Looking back now I can see that the hard work really paid off, there has been no cracks or problems with the dome since I built it 8 years ago. It has survived some major hurricanes, Blizards and a lot of rain too. But it stood its ground even thou its not secured to the base structure, this has really been a hit for my astronomy hobby.
